"Desterrarse" is a personal and family project about family separation, as a result of migratory processes. With visual and audio format I talk about the feelings that go through a mother-daughter relationship built between departures and arrivals, between distances and proximity, between different cultures.

My mother has been a constant migrant between Colombia and the Iberian Peninsula for 30 years. She has migrated ten different times to continuously build and rebuild her life between Colombia, Spain and Portugal.

This project was developed in 2021 as part of Semillero Migrante, a program of visual narratives on migration, supported by OjoRojo Fábrica Visual, Espacio Anna Frank and Roberto Mata - Taller De Fotografía.
